Peter Dawes

I am a Diploma qualified Independent Financial Advisor with CarterDawes IFA Solutions Ltd, a company I joined in 2010 as a self employed associate. As a business, we are delighted to have recently relocated to our new permanent offices in the centre of Ipswich. Prior to this, I worked for Edward Jones (Financial Advisors and Stockbrokers) and before this, Barclays Bank where I worked for 10 years, again in the local Ipswich area. My 17 years working in the Financial Services Industry have meant that I have developed close working relationships with a large number of individual clients and a range of businesses from retail through to fellow professionals.

I have five years local Chamber of Commerce experience having just completed a successful term of three years as Chairman of the Felixstowe branch. In my time as Chair, I have promoted and built strong working relationships with not only the local business community but also local government and the police encouraging a more joined up approach.

I have also been involved in promoting the Chamber from a tourism perspective which has led to contacts in the leisure and tourism industry and a broadening of my knowledge and experience.

When not working at CarterDawes, I enjoy keeping fit and run 2 to 3 times a week and have recently taken part in the Felixstowe Rotary charity fun run. I live in Ipswich with my wife and as my two sons have flown the nest, this leaves me time to follow my other passion in life ’Ipswich Town.’

I am delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of the new Ipswich Chamber.
