Karen Finch, RHAD, FSHAA, FRSA
Managing Director, The Hearing Care Centre, Ltd., Ipswich
Born in Ipswich, Karen attended Northgate Grammar School for Girls and Suffolk College before a career in commerce. In 1991 she joined a local hearing company promoted to Practice Manager and Company Secretary, and then moved to the NHS to evolve a new clinical audit department.
In 1997 she trained as a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser. Two years later, then a single mum, she re-mortgaged her home and set up her business, The Hearing Care Centre, in Ipswich from scratch.
Since then the business has grown now employing a staff of thirteen. In addition to the Ipswich High Street centre she has developed thirteen outreach centres across Suffolk.
Karen has won an accolade of awards over the last 5 years including 3 national titles. She is a strong supporter of charity work locally and has recently raised £15k for the Hearing Dogs Charity.
Karen is an active member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists. She has served a two-year term as national President and is currently Chair of the Communications Committee, Chair of the annual congress organising committee and a member of the national council.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
