Ofsted Judges Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College “Outstanding”

09 Nov 2010
In October 2010 Ofsted inspectors visited Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College in Haverhill and judged the College to be “outstanding”. The college is now ranked in the top 10% of schools in the country.
Principal Madeleine Vigar said: "Many members of the community have worked with us as students, parents, carers, members of staff and governors. Others will be aware of our College through our work with local groups and organisations such as the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce . Parents with children at Castle Hill Middle School and Place Farm Primar y School will know us through our partnership work with those two schools – The Castle Par tnership.
"Our Ofsted report recognises the fantastic achievements of our students and staff. The report talks about “an outstanding College ” with a “powerful ethos ”, where students make good progress and individuals feel valued and recognised. This powerful learning ethos is created by skilled staff, good teaching and a highly effective curriculum that is underpinned by outstanding behaviour, care, guidance and support."
Ms Vigar said Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College had been on a journey of transformation since September 2003.
She added: "We would like to thank members of the local community for their support and for believing that we would become one of the best schools in Suffolk. We are very proud of this achievement and know that our local community will be too! As the Castle Par tnership develops we look forward to securing outstanding all through learning for children and young people during all stages of their education."
