Haverhill Business Networking Evening Gives Students a Chance to Show off their Culinary Skills

27 Sep 2010

Catering students from Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College will be showing off their cookery skills when they provide the buffet for the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce’s Open Networking Evening at the Days Inn on Monday 27 September.

The students will be demonstrating the cuisine they prepare in the College’s new Young Chamber led enterprise ‘The Bistro’ to businesses in the town.  The purpose of The Bistro is to provide students with a realistic environment in which to develop their knowledge, skills, and attributes in the business of catering.

The open networking evening is a chance for business people to come along, relax and network informally with other firms in Haverhill. The event takes place from 6pm to 9pm and is free for Chamber members and £7.50 for non-members.

Sarah Howard, Chairman of Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is an opportunity for the catering students at Castle Manor to show the excellent work and catering that they are being taught to provide at the college. I have tasted the food and it really is first class and comparable to professional catering companies.

“The open networking event is for both members and non members of the Chamber in Haverhill and the surrounding area.”

Places at the event must be booked in advance via the Chambers website at www.suffolkchamber.co.uk/haverhillchamber
