Business Speed Networking Event takes place at Haverhill Golf Club

28 Feb 2011
You may have heard of speed dating, well Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is bringing speed networking to town at an event to be held at Haverhill Golf Club.
Speed networking is thought to have started in America and is based on the popular speed dating, the round-robin approach to meeting potential suitors first developed by Rabbi Yaacov Deyo in the late 1990s.
Participants have 60 seconds to promote their business and exchange information with the person sitting opposite them, before moving along to the next contact.
The event on Wednesday 9 March at Haverhill golf Club from 6pm to 9pm is open to members and non-members of the Chamber.
Sarah Howard, Chairman of Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, said: “Personal recommendation or third party referral, is, without doubt the most effective marketing tool available. Speed networking gives you access to a wealth of contacts in a fun, relaxed and informal environment. If you make 30 new business contacts in one evening, working in the assumption that each of these contacts already has 50 contacts of their own you potentially are gaining access to 1500 new business contacts just from attending one event!
“The beauty of Speed Networking is that it is efficient. Because you have a set amount of time in which to meet each contact you will find that your time is spent meeting the optimum number of contacts within a short period of time. Speed networking is a fast way to meet new contacts and form business relationships with other local businesses attending the event.”
Tickets for the event, which include a cold buffet, are priced at £10 +VAT for Chamber members and £15 +VAT for non-members are available online at www.haverhillchamber.co.uk or telephone Sue Warren on 01440 705578 for further information.
