Green for Growth
Hosted in conjunction with the West Wing at Ickworth
The West Wing at Ickworth, Tuesday 8 February 2011 7.45am for 8.00am
As you might expect, there is more on the menu than delicious food.
You can profit from “green” initiatives.
The “Carbon Trust” new paper “The Business of Energy Efficiency” (published Dec 13), reveals that large UK businesses are paying out more than £1.6bn too much on their annual energy bills. Many are yet to seize the full opportunity to cut bills by around 15% through energy efficiency measures. Substantial savings can be made, positioning businesses to maximise sub-contracting and supplier opportunities. Hear from a local business how they have already benefited from their progress on the sustainable journey.
The Climate Change Act (which the UK adopted in 2008) sets a target for the UK of reducing carbon emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. Find out how to benefit from this initiative and how reducing emissions can be good for your business.
The College provides training opportunities to support businesses in adopting sustainable practices. Information on how you can benefit will be available on the day.
Finally, Pearson Work Based Learning will attend the event to offer practical advice on how to address skills gaps and enable learners to reach their full potential as effectively and efficiently as possible via Apprenticeships.
