Business leaders from across Suffolk have been invited to find out more about the benefits of keeping their workforce healthy at a free masterclass taking place next month.

Organised by Healthy Ambitions Suffolk in partnership with Suffolk Chamber of Commerce and Business in the Community, the event is specifically aimed at small and medium sized businesses looking to promote health and wellbeing among their employees.

Delegates will find out more about the financial benefits which keeping their workforce healthy can bring, such as increased productivity and reduced sickness absence. Businesses which have already introduced workplace health and wellbeing programmes will share their experiences, while information will also be provided about the help and support which is available locally.

Claire Parker, Healthy Ambitions Suffolk fit for work coordinator, said: “The masterclass will underline the importance of workplace wellbeing while also giving our local business community lots of practical, low cost ideas for improving health in their organisation.

“We’ll be focussing on providing the tools, information and inspiration which businesses need to take their first steps towards making employee wellbeing a strategic priority. Companies which come along will also have the chance to sign up for the HAS business award scheme, which will provide them with additional help and support.

“We are particularly keen to engage with small and medium sized businesses and would encourage anyone who wants to find out more to come along to the masterclass.”

The masterclass takes place on Wednesday 16 March at Ipswich Building Society, Freehold House, Ransomes Europark, running between 9.15am and 1pm. For more information or to book a place, contact Nifa Begum on 01638 663272 or nifa.begum@bitc.org.uk
