The Groundwork Business Energy Advisor service is running a short workshop to help small and medium sized businesses in and around the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty understand their carbon footprint and help reduce energy costs.

Delegates will:

  • Understand carbon footprinting and its relevance to energy management in business.
  • Calculate their carbon footprint and energy costs using your utility bills and mileage data.
  • Analyse their carbon footprint and compare their performance against similar businesses.
  • Identify their main energy saving opportunities.

The workshop will begin after breakfast and include an update from the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Delegates will have the chance to enjoy a complimentary breakfast provided by The Angel Inn, including cereals, fresh fruit, a full English breakfast, mixed summer fruit pancakes and poached duck egg with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. All are served with fresh fruit smoothies, juices or tea and coffee.

What will you need to bring?

Delegates will need to bring a laptop to work on and a year’s worth of utility bill data in order to calculate their footprint. If a years worth of data is not available please bring along copies of your oldest and latest bill for electricity, gas, oil, water and waste (as relevant). If you are unable to access a laptop to bring along, please contact us and we will help where we can.

Background

The Dedham Vale Business Energy Advisor service is funded through the Dedham Vale AONB Sustainable Development Fund, Groundwork East of England and Suffolk Climate Change Partnership. The service is specifically for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Dedham Vale to help them reduce their carbon footprint, cut business costs and enhance their reputation.
