Sustainable Luxury Event

LONDON

THE INSTITUTE OF MATERIALS, MINERALS AND MINING, SW1Y 5DB

01/03/2012 3:00PM to 7:00PM

Why sustainable luxury?

  • The luxury sector has a high environmental footprint  with nearly a million tonnes of textiles are thrown away each year
  • Over half of waste produced can be recycled
  • There is a high demand for sustainable luxury to prevent such waste
  • Bio-materials now offer new design consideration
  • Industry & design led research can help implement new local and international government regulations to reduce the amount of waste in this sector

This event will:

  • Demonstrate the perspective of brand owners on the use of sustainable material and practices
  • Showcase the concepts of integrating bio-based materials to the luxury sectors
  • Discuss opportunities for the implementation of innovative sustainable materials
  • Highlight the options for using bio-based materials and manufacturing processes for improving the sustainability profile of your company
