Algae for Food and Feed

Algae for Food and Feed

CAMBRIDGE

HUGHES HALL COLLEGE

07/02/2012 3:00PM to 6:30PM

Why algae?
- Algae have considerable potential for expanded use in human food and animal feed.
- Certain strains are high in protein, some contain omega oils, others are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, some contain valuable pigments.
- Currently  demand outstrips supply, and new business opportunities are emerging

The event will
 - showcase the work of the newly launched INTERREG NW Europe Strategic Initiative ‘EnAlgae’, of which InCrops is a partner
- highlight the benefits of algae as a functional food/feed
- provide a platform for business delegates to pitch with one slide who they are, what they do and what they are looking for
- facilitate building of algal supply chains during networking

Registration - please reserve your place by contacting Julia O'Rourke, events co-ordinator before 1st February. Email J.orourke@uea.ac.uk or call 01603 591765
