Team work is an important factor in any environment. But how do you create and develop an effective team? Belonging to a team, is in the broadest sense, a result of feeling part of something larger than yourself, individuals working together in bringing out the best in each other to ensure the team succeeds.

We are delighted to welcome Jamie Baulch to Ipswich on Friday June 24th, who knows all about the importance of team work. Jamie has enjoyed a career spanning 15 years at the top of world class athletics. His talent for running was spotted at a very early age by his headmaster on sports day and encouraged him to join a local athletics club, since then Jamie never looked back. Jamie developed into one of the sports big personalities, recognised by his peroxide bleached dreadlocks for many years, which led him into a promotional campaign with Vidal Sassoon.

Jamie made his debut for the GB team as a junior in 1991. He burst onto the international scene winning the 200m in Salamanca Spain.

He was selected for the 1996 Olympics competing in the 400m and 4 x 400m quartet relay in which they won silver. He became world indoor champion in 1999 and still holds the British indoor record over 400m set in 1997. Jamie won 11 medals at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships and Commonwealth Games.
